Annual Compensation: (City Pay Scale 5) $56,056.00 - $89,613.00 Range depending upon experience and certifications.

Description: Charles Town seeks applicants for the position of Building Official/Building Inspector. This position manages the administration, inspection, and enforcement of all state and city building codes and public nuisance compliance. This position will also perform, after receiving appropriate certifications, technical office and field work consisting of residential and commercial plan reviews, field inspections during all phases of construction, alteration, and repair on all (residential and commercial) structures to ensure state and local building code compliance.
Qualifications: applicants will have three years of progressively responsible building trade, contractor, or related experience. Applicants must also have a high school diploma/equivalent and a valid WV driver’s license. Certification as a building inspector, completion of a building trade apprenticeship program, or an Associate’s degree/vocational school in a construction-related field may be substituted for experience. Must have or attain within designated time frame International Code Council (ICC) Certifications.
