Entry Level Press Production
The Entry Level Press Production position is designed for individuals looking to start their career in the printing and publishing industry. This role involves assisting in the operation of printing presses and supporting various tasks within the press room to ensure efficient production of high-quality print publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Press Operations:
- Support press operators in setting up and running printing presses.
- Learn to monitor print quality and make basic adjustments under supervision.
- Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Help maintain a clean and organized press room environment.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks and basic troubleshooting.
- Material Handling:
- Load paper and ink into the printing presses as directed.
- Manage inventory of supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.
- Quality Control Support:
- Assist in conducting quality checks during production runs.
- Report any issues with print quality to the press operators or supervisors.
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training sessions.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues as needed.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some technical training in printing or graphic arts is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Salary:
- $35K per year depending on experience plus benefits
