Thurmont Economic Development Assistant

Job Description Scope of work: Full time position reports to the Economic Development Manager and performs administrative work, grant management, attending meetings, seminars, working with volunteers, public outreach, and event oversight in relation to the successful economic and community development operations of the Town of Thurmont. Must possess excellent computer skills and knowledge associated with general office work such as Outlook, Word, formulating spreadsheets in Excel, Google Drive, and dashboard experience for website and App. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Marketing, or Non-Profit, or minimum five years’ experience in business administration, marketing, or nonprofit sector. This position does require Saturdays and evenings. Starting Salary on a sliding scale, $21-24 per hour depending on experience, plus generous benefits package. The Town of Thurmont is a drug-free work environment and prospective employees must pass a pre-employment drug test.
